Serves: 4 servings
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 medium heirloom tomatoes
- 3 medium avocados
- 1 large bunch fresh basil
- 1 lemon, juiced
- sea salt
- fresh ground black pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Cut the avocado around the equator and remove pit. Slice into rounds, then remove peel. Lightly toss avocado slices in lemon juice.
- Slice tomatoes and salt lightly. Layer tomato slices, avocado slices and basil leaves. Drizzle with lemon juice. Salt and pepper to taste.

Hello,
I am going through my first 10 day cycle. I had a question about vegetable choices.
Do different types of the same varietal count as 1 item or 2?
For example, red & yellow peppers. Or tomatoes, like cherry tomatoes and heirloom tomatoes. Or mushrooms, like white button and portabella?

Hello Steven, thank you for your comment. Different types of vegetables like red, yellow, green peppers; tomatoes, apples, oranges etc count as 1. Mushrooms are not allowed while you are on our program, as well as starchy vegetables like corn peas and potatoes.
